I have 2 samsung 950pro drives in the first two m.2 slots. I have a gtx760 video card. Which slot is best to keep from affecting the m.2 drives. I read that the skylake has 16 cpu channels and a separate 20 channels. The MB spec don't really say anything about how they are broke out. If I use 4 channels each for the drives then I only have 8 channels left for video. If I put in slot2 will it try to take more channels since 16 are available. Is it better to put in slot4 and limit it to 8 channels, but what impact will that have on the drive. Or are part of these devices using the 20 channels. Nothing really explains how this is set up. I want assure that I am getting max throughput on the drives and then use 8 channels or what is available for video.

Hi Kite, The 16 lanes for vídeo cards (direct from CPU) are independent of lanes for M.2 drives (they are via chipset). My rig has 2x 950 PRO in raid0 and the 980Ti vídeo card (installed in PCIE2) is working at PCIe3.0 X16. Regards
