AB350 Gaming ITX/AC - M.2 PCIe & Ryzen APU

Hello,

I just went over the specs but it's not clear how and what the board will support.

I use an Ryzen 5 2400g APU (Raven Ridge) and want to install a M.2 PCIe SSD Drive. To ensure it will run at it's full capability I checked the specs and foud this:

- 1 x Ultra M.2 Socket, supports M Key type 2280 M.2 SATA3 6.0 Gb/s module and M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen3 x4 (32 Gb/s) (with Ryzen Series CPU) or Gen3 x2 (16 Gb/s) (with A-Series APU)*

Now what does that mean? It supports x4 on RYZEN CPU and x2 on A-SERIES APUs (which are Bristol Ridge).

What about RAVEN RIDGE APUs lilke mine? Will it run at max 4x or not? And how much does it matter if I install a Samsung 960 EVO? Will it still be faster than a regular SATA SSD, is it worth the effort of taking the whole thing apart to install it?!

I found different information on that so I'm a bit confused.

Some say they just reduced the PCIe x16 GPU slot to x8 but still have 4 + 4 for chipset and peripherals but others say you'll get only x2 on M.2 PCIe slot.

This might be very specific for this mainboard, I don't know. Hopfully anyone can test or clarify this before I buy a new M.2 SSD which I won't if it's not much faster than my existing SATA SSD.

That must be the reason why many PCIe M2 SSD owners post bad reviews about their drive speeds and many say they aren't faster (or even slower) than their regular SATA III SSDs?!
