Hello all. New here, and I have a quesiton about an irritation I am having with my B450 Gaming ITX/as motherboard.
I use this board in a fully silent Home Theater PC setup, but it has an odd idiosychricity that makes it a bit irritating to deal with. That would be the fact that the Toslink optical output which I use to connect up to the stereo seems to have some sort of "smart" on off feature that isn't so smart. Basically every day when I turn the PC on I have to keep cranking up the volume higher and higher until the board finally realizes there is sound there and turns out the output. The real problem is that the volume threshold you have to pass to get this to occur seems to be completely random. One day it turns right on. The next day it refuses to turn on even with the sound cranked up to levels that are dangerous to the equipment and disturbing to neighbors when it finally decides to switch on. Other days it seems to completely refuse to turn on for multiple minutes at a time. I'm not sure if this is happening at the firmware level, or where in the chain the issue resides. I can seem to find any settings indicating an auto on/off function on this in either windows or the BIOS. Anyone ever dealt with a similar issue and found a fix? I'm tired of playing volume routette every time I turn on my PC. |
