TSIA. I've updated the bios to my AB350 PRO4 to 4.40 and the OC option popped up. I tried a variety of configurations between clocks and voltages on a A8-9600 and these are my findings. Please note, this is probably specific to the A8-9600 and perhaps the other APUs in the lineup.
1. While you can set the voltage however high you want, CPUz reports a max of 1.2v being drawn. 2. Overclocks won't remain steady. You can have a stress test run for roughly a minute before the clock fluctuates heavily and the voltage drops. 3. At 4000MHz, I had to set my VCore to 1.3v just to boot into Windows. Again, like above, the overclock won't last long. I've messed around with some of the bios settings, like chill n cool or whatever it's called. Disabling that didn't help. It looks like anyone who wants to OC their A8-9600 on this mobo will need to wait a bit longer. EDIT: Here are my results as I was overclocking. https://imgur.com/Pt7JlHA EDIT 2: I contacted ASROCK. They provided me with BIOS version 3.20E Edited by camomatt - 17 Jan 2018 at 6:33am |
