Have a new x299 I9 gaming mb (not the xe w. the extra voltage support)
It wont power on. the Dr never powers on or even lights up let alone show a code. The mb flashes white under the vrm 2 or 3 times when the power supply is turned on and then flashes red very slowly Tried with just the mb and processor, no processor, processor plus ram, ram only, and with the video card, ram, and processor. The cooler is the Corsair h115 extreme, which Ive used before with great success. I've asked the vendor for an RMA but before shipping thought I would post a request for help. It's a disappointment because I tried an x99 Taichi last year and that motherboard was dead out of the box (confirmed by the vendor on their workbench). It would never boot or power on as well. Any suggestions would be great. Power supply is seasonic 1000 tritanium and works fine, tested in another build. Processor is 7940x. Ram is Corsair 64gb C15 3000 red led kit. (4 x 16 gb). While this exact kit is not listed on the Asrock support for this board, one that looks to be identical except for a small difference is. The ram has been tested in a gigabyte x299 mb and an asus x99 mb. Also tried all combinations of the above plus no ram, 2 sticks, 4 sticks, using the guide to populate c1 d1 slots first (assuming I read that right). |

Searching this forum, there are many threads with similar issues. For Taichi I counted at least four separate threads.
So it seems this is not Taichi only issue, but across AsRock x299 model family. |
