Hi!

I just assembled a new rig with this wonderful MB: so far so good.

My only "issue" is that I have a lighted keyboard & mouse: they works absolutely fine BUT when I power off the system they remain lighted.

I found out that this MB continues to provide power to USB ports even with the system powered off, and that all this is a "feature" - quite common on newest mainboards.

While I can appreciate the idea behind (i.e. devices designed to "wake up" the system need power ), the side effect for me is what I described above.

I have two questions:

1) There is a way to disable this "feature" and power off permanently all the USB ports when I power off the system?

In BIOS I only found "Deep Sleep" setting that seems to be somehow related to the issue but changing it from "disable"to "S5 state" did not helped at all.

2) If a way exists, it can affect the resume from suspension mode in the OS? (Windows 10 Pro / 64 bit)

You were so close to finding that option, when you tried Deep Sleep option.

In the Chipset Configuration screen, below Deep Sleep, find the Good Night LED option, and set it to Enabled.

About your second question, yes it can affect waking the PC from Sleep, if the mouse and keyboard are no longer receiving power. It will depend on the mouse you use, and impossible to predict if the mouse or keyboard will still work to wake the PC. It probably won't work with Good Night LED enabled.

But, if you press the power button on the PC, it should wake from Sleep. That works fine on my ASRock boards.

Well, I will try and check if the mouse / keyboard can still be used for "wake up".

Anyway if I need to press the power button instead, it will not be a big issue while in contrast I cannot keep the keyboard and mouse constantly lighted, of course LOL

No, that is the only option available for that purpose.

Do you have your board's APP Shop program installed? If so, check it for the equivalent of the Goodnight LED UEFI/BIOS option, that is a Windows program, and give that a try, if it is available.

If you check the Device Manager entries for your mouse and keyboard, are the "Allow this device to wake the computer" options checked? If so, try unchecking them.

What mouse and keyboard model are you using?

When you have the Goodnight LED option Enabled, which is supposed to turn off the power to the USB ports, it is also supposed to turn off the PC case's Power and HDD activity LEDs when the PC in on. Do you find that those LEDs are off when that option is enabled?

Yes, I have. I enabled it via software: same result

Ok, but that's in Windows....how can it have an effect when the system is totally powered off?
My problem is that the KB & Mouse are lighted even with the system totally powered off because the motherboard keeps supply power to USB ports......is not a software related issue.

Nothing special: a common mechanical keyboard and a common high dpi mouse with light function.
I think that the brand/type/model does not have any relevance in the matter, because the real issue is related to USB ports power supply.

Yes, the LEDs (PC case & HDD) are turned off. Actually, according to the info online & manual, that is exactly what "Goodnight LED" option is supposed to do. But I found nothing about it turning off the power to the USB ports.....and indeed the USB ports are still powered with this option enabled!

I also checked if there is some jumper (yes, I know that the manual does not mention it at all)  that can address the issue (because I found out that some MB have it!) but found nothing.

Just a suggestion to ASRock bios developing team: WHY not add a simple option that allows the user to switch off the power to USB ports when the system is totally shut down? I think that's easy to implement, useful and user-friendly solution. Handshake
