Hello,
I have a new z690 Extreme Wifi and a NZXT 73 Kraken AIO. I do not wish to use their software to run the systems, so have the 3 pin pump connection plugged into CPU Fan/Pump 2 connection. I have it set to pump / auto / full speed. My issue is that the pump can operate up to 2600 rpm in openhardware and HWinfo with the NZXT software installed and set to full speed. When the software is removed, max rpm 960 rpm, indicating its running less than half speed. How can I fix this so I have proper control over the pump and can reach max RPM if so desired. |

When using a 3 pin pump, the speed is regulated by the voltage on the second pin
4 pin layout 1. Minus (ground) 2. fixed voltage 12Volt 3. RPM sensor 4. PWM signal 3 pin layout 1. Minus (ground) 2. variable voltage up to 12Volt 3. RPM sensor It might be that you have to set the waterpump output to DC mode Note: Waterpumops, have a longer life span, when running on a fixed speed, between 65% and 75% of the max speed. There is not much difference in the liquid temperature, under load or in idle. So a Molex connector with a resistor usually works fine. The pumpt itself, should always be below the output of the radiator, to prevent air, collecting in the pump. |
