CPU 7700K
Corsair DDR4 memory (dual channel) CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 LSPCON latest firmware (1.61) Trying to play UHD Blu-ray through CyberLink using the newly released Pioneer UHD drive BDR-S11. Have enabled SGX in BIOS (tried both Enabled and Software Controlled settings) and installed all the latest updates for Windows 10 and Intel HD graphics. Also using all the latest files from your asrock website e g Intel Management Engine driver ver:11.6.0.1126 and INF driver ver:10.1.1.38. Netflix 4K streaming is working when using the HDMI 2.0 port confirming that I have HDCP 2.2 functioning. BUT I cannot get UHD Blu-ray to play through CyberLink. Have tested the Pioneer bundled PowerDVD version 14 as well as leaked version 17. Both are supposed to support UHD but I get similar errors in both. Version 14 shows only "Intel ME not ready" error. Version 17 shows more detailed but confusing error "Intel SGX wasn't started. Please re-install full set of Intel ME software components". PowerDVD installed a SGX component when it was installed, but I have also tried installing SGX separately from Intel. But get same errors. Normal blu-ray will play OK in both PowerDVD versions so problem is only related to UHD Blu-ray (which I believe uses SGX for DRM). It seems your ASROCK BIOS and/or version of Intel ME does not fully support SGX? Anyone that can suggest a solution? Edited by nilsman - 23 Feb 2017 at 11:32pm |

Ok, problem solved and can confirm that UHD Blu-ray works in PowerDVD 14 on this motherboard with a Kaby Lake processor.
Problem was related to Intel SGX and ME. The Intel ME drivers provided by ASRock for this board do not contain all the things needed for SGX to work with UHD Blu-ray. Got it working by installing this old Intel ME driver: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26135/Intel-Management-Engine-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-for-Intel-NUC It might be old but it contains all files needs :-) |
