    Posted: 21 Jul 2025 at 10:37am
Hello, I have a Z97E-ITX/AC mobo, bios version P2.20. I upgraded the unit from Win7 Home to Win10 Enterprise edition (clean install). My problem is that the PC no longer displays the PCIE slot X16, primary GPU (GeForce GT 740 2gb) in the device manager. There was already a (1 x 2 riser card) installed in the unit so I'm thinking I may need to update the bios to a version that enables PCIE bifurcation. This is just my assumption. Can someone tell me which bios version I'll need for this or is there something else going on that causing my problem.. Thank you so much

So the only thing that changed is the OS install? No hardware or BIOS changes/updates?

Good morning, I also updated the bios to the latest version P2.20. After the initial Win 10 install the card was detected but after running the first Windows Update > (View optional updates) the X16 slot was no longer there/ detected. The unit has an i7 3.2 GHz processor and PCIe 3.0 interface on board.. Thank you

Try clearing CMOS and see if that helps. If the update changed something to cause
it to stop working that may help. You can additionally try using a bootable USB
linux distro and check if the card shows up under linux. You can boot directly
from a USB drive and don't need to install the OS on your system.

I already cleared the CMOS it didn't change the display adapter issue.. I think I have a bootable copy of Ubuntu 22.04 lying around somewhere -
So just run ~ lspci or cat /proc/bus/pci/devices??
I probably can't do it today but I'll report back later this week... Thank you for your support

Sorry for the delay! Here the output from lspci -vv and lspci -vv |grep PCI

Please note (Class 4800 NEWTEK Inc Device) this is the manufacturer which I'm trying to bypass to use the unit with OBS or vMix in a secure Win 10 environment while maintaining have access to the front panels 6 x HDMI ports and front panel audio..
The unit was created to run on Win 7 (2015) and NewTek or MicroSoft refused to offer a upgrade path to Win 10., so here I sit 10 years later with a $5K brick that runs only on Win 7 lol..
Anyway, Thank you so much for your support.

PS: Is it true that Asrock can provide a BIOS update for this board to enable bifurcation?

Great, that info will be useful. From here, I would open a support ticket with
ASRock.
You can do so from here.

Include a link to this thread. If there isn't a BIOS with Bifurcation support already
available then they can help you with that, I know they have done so in at least
one other case on the forums here.

Good luck

BREAKING NEW, BREAKING NEW,

I logged back into Windows and there is a NEW device titled (PCI Device) under (Other devices) in Device Manager. Yay Hooray!

I tried to run the recommended NVidia driver for my card which failed.
(PNY Geforce GT740 2GB DDR3 PCIE) | Driver 475.14 WHQL

I also tried running the NVidia App to pick the driver for me but it failed as well.

Can you help with solving this new issue?
Cant find drivers for this device....

Thank you
