Hello,

I'm having issues with my Asrock Z77 Extreme6. I bought a new case and have been moving my computer into the new one. As of before removing the parts from the old chassis, everything worked fine.

When I turn my power supply on, the system starts, and then within 5 seconds, it powers down again. Despite having a speaker plugged in, I'm not given any post code by the motherboard.

Pressing the power and reset buttons on the motherboard do nothing. I'm only using the bare necessities (PSU, RAM, CPU), and have reseated each.

Any idea what this means?

1st I'd check I got the polarities right from the cases wiring to the MB's System Panel Header.

2nd, finding I had the wiring correct I'd pull the MB out and onto a bare cardboard box to see if it might be shorting out on something in the new case.

What make and model PSU is it in there while this is occurring? And how old is it?

Keep us posted on the results of both.

Hey dude sorry for the late response! I did what you said and set up everything on a cardboard; in doing so I reseated the CPU again and I think that may have been it since everything worked after putting it all back in the case. :)
