hi guys, 1st off Merry Christmas/ Happy holiday to all!
So I built a PC for my son for Christmas and all working awesome until today I saw an update int h ASRock update APP to 2.0 and stupidly hit install even though I should know better at my age to not mess with the BIOS if you don't have too lol anyhow during the install a screen popped up and I couldn't use the keyboard to select an option and didn't have an old non USB keyboard to connect with either so after a while I shut down the computer....after that I couldn't get the sytstem to POST at all...tried putting original BIOS on USB flash but no luck as system didn't [post so couldn't get to F2 to eazyflash , tried resetting CMOS jumper,,no luck.. system boots up, fans running but won't post so can I do anything at home to get recover the old BIOS which was working 110% ???? I really don't want to have to take the system apart to bring the MB in to store but I guess I'll have to if I can't somehow recover it ..... needless to say have a very upset 11 year old staring at me right now lol MB is ASRock B450M Pro 4 cheer, John |

Ayy, the dreaded Windoze BIOS flasher! I wonder why they still put out cr@p like that?
Anyhow, 1st things first - leave 1 stick of RAM only, no HDD, no GPU or any other peripheral besides a kbd. Now, Remove the power cord AND the CMOS battery. Press the power on button for 15-20s. This should drain any remaining volatile memory array. Check all connections, cabling, CPU, mobo standoff screws, etc. and put back the CMOS battery and the power cable. Try booting now and report back. ![]() |

Last thing that comes to my mind - try some flash recovery. Something like
https://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/support/faq_content.php?S_ID=392 I've seen similar stuff for ASRock but I can't find the link. |

no luck so taking board and CPU to where I bought them to see if they can get it to post and install original bios today. If they can't get it back then time to buy new MB unfortunately

During my fair share of time here I've seen many issues with mobos like yours, so it won't surprise me if yours is a dud.
Let us know how it went. It will be a good feedback for the rest of us. |

well tech at store tried a few tings but nothing at the end could get it to post so conclusion was to fill out RMA form and mail or drive (if close) to ASRock for repair or replacement since it's under warranty (only few weeks old).
