I have issue with X870E Nova Wifi. I'm on the latest BIOS ver 3.0
CPU: 9700x
RAM: 32GB Gskill trident Z, EXPO Enabled.
PBO + Curve Optimizer: minus 20.

The board occasionally does not boot and return 0xd6 code (cold boot). Referring to the manual, it is DXE_NO_CON_OUT error. Force shutdown then reboot > it boots up like usual.

What does this mean ? How do I fix this please ?

DXE_NO_CON_OUT can be several things, including GPU not initialized/found, keyboard
malfunction etc.

You said only on cold boot, is that from a fully powered down state (power from the
wall off) or simply a shut down state (power on from the wall but PC off)?

PC completely shutdowns overnight, boots up in the next morning then occasionally it returns this code. Everything is brandnew in this PC. The worst part is this error does not show up daily, maybe once every 3-4 days so I don't know what's the problem.

I don't think it's cause for concern, likely a bug caused by an improper shut down
caused by the OS but if you are concerned you can open a support ticket with ASRrock
here and ask them to confirm.

I have seen a few cases involving the D6 code here on the forums over the years
one turned out to be a faulty GPU, another was a faulty PSU and another turned out
to be a gaming keyboard that was causing a conflict. In all these cases however
the issue was persistent and cause the system/s to fail to boot every time.
It is possible it could be an intermittent fault but the fact it only effects a
cold boot and works fine after a forced shutdown and reboot leans me more toward
a software/firmware bug. Does using the reset switch also cause the system to boot
normally again or do you have to press and hold the power button then power on
again for it to come back to life?
