Good afternoon everyone,
Yesterday, I upgraded my BIOS of my X470 Master SLI A/C to the latest version, 3.30, which went on without a hitch, but after flashing, the BIOS restarted twice before booting into my loader for Windows and Linux, which it's never done before after previous BIOS updates. Now, any time I power down my computer and cut power, I have to clear my CMOS or else the POST gets frozen at code A0. So I clear the CMOS and reboot, and everything is fine until the power is cut off (the computer reboots fine as long as it's just restarted.) Does anybody know what's going on? I even tried re-flashing 3.30, which made no difference. I'm stuck clearing my CMOS every time I shut off my computer. Any help is appreciated, thanks. |

I've tried re-flashing again, but no cigar. Every time I power off the system (not restart), I have to clear the CMOS again and reset the BIOS settings, as the system still freezes at POST with code A0 displayed on the lower right-hand corner.

Does it appear after shutdown with Windows and Linux too?
BTW: A0 - IDE initialization is started |

Hmm, A0 could be a drive timeout failure.
Did you try to make a reset (Not CMOS clear) or push the powerbutton for some seconds (from the mainboard) when stuck at A0? And you should list all your components... |

So my main drive is an M.2 SSD, I also have a SATA SSD and a SATA hard drive, the latter of which I tried disconnecting with no luck (it still freezes at A0). The only way to power down once it freezes is by holding the power button until it shuts off, as it's totally unresponsive. Once I clear the CMOS, it starts up, reboots at POST, and then POSTS again and I can get into my loader (which is on the M.2 SSD), which never happened before the 3.30 update.
My components are: Asrock x470 Master SLI/ac with BIOS 3.30 AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 6GB 2x8GB Corsair dual channel DDR4 2666 XPG M.2 2280 PCIe SSD 480GB Samsung 860 EVO V-NAND SSD 500GB A shucked 10TB WD Easystore (tried with and without this connected, no change) Corsair K70 LUX keyboard Asus ROG mouse |

But what about Linux?
If you do a shutdown by Linux, switch off, on and restart the PC, is the "A0" stuck also given? If yes, check the "Fast Start" option on windows 10 shutdown and disable it, if it is enabled. |
