MB: ASRock X470 Gaming ITX/ac (BIOS 3.30, Combo AM4 AGESA 1.0.0.1)
CPU: 3700X
GPU: 5700 XT

I am unable to install AMD drivers 19.7.1/19.7.2 due to PC crash/failed Windows boot unless I replace the 3700X with a 2700X. PCIe options in BIOS only include Gen1/2/Auto (choosing Gen 2 does not fix the issue).

ah .. found your post. I'm guessing we have similar BIOS's .. X470 Master SLI/ac .. and I found 2 settings with the Gen1/Gen2/Auto settings and put both to Gen2 .. I'm going to switch one and then the other to Auto and see if I still get reboots. Both set to Gen2 and no reboots but I feel I should be getting better performance out of my ASRock RX 5700XT though as it's only a few frames better than the GTX 1080 that I was running in Hunt:Showdown (only PC game I play right now). But like you suggested in my post, I'll check to see if I'm running at PCIe 2.0 or 3.0

Hi,

On the other hand it's great to hear it forcing PCI-4, because it means dropping a 3000 series into a x370 with supported bios as per official link = https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/X370%20Taichi/#CPU

means x370 get PCI-4 also? without assurance and warranty of course.

ASRock sent me a beta BIOS 3.41 (AGESA 1.0.0.3AB) for X470 Gaming ITX/ac, and the AMD driver will now install.
