yoyo ! Im breadbording this setup right now:
~ Asrock z390 pro4 < bios version 4.50 ~ 9900kf < no integrated gpu ~ kingston hyper x fury 2666 ( 32 gb in 2x16 ) ~ nzxt kraken x53 cooler ~ corsair rm750x ~ fresh 500 gb samsung SSd intended for windows ~ old 980ti ( new 3080 on order since November, but I?m no scalper/miner so i guess I?m out of luck until my retailer sends me one somewhere in 2036 like most people ????) The issue : All the items described above are new besides the gpu. My last system gave the ghost this week due to cpu / mobo failure. The breadborded System makes it past post, atleast thats my guess as I can?t get any video signal to come out of the gpu on 3 screens or my tv. I get 1 short higher pitched beep, I guess it means it?s getting past post ? it does not sound like a error beep code. If I remove the video card and power on, I get 5 unmistakeable error beeps. My guess is the mobo is trying to coax the processor to start onboard graphics, which the cpu does not support Prompting it to spit out a cpu error. But I could be very wrong here. Mouse and keyboard seem to light up, cooler fans spin but I can not confirm with certainty the pump is working because it makes no noise. I have reseated the cpu, switched the ram around. Reset the bios (with jumper and pill) Nothing is making a difference. would love to have some of you guys insight, because I am stumped. I can recreate the 4 beep error with success every time I pull the gpu. But the board refuses to give me anything els that could indicate a problem. Yes, the gpu could have died with my last system but would it make it past post? If that high pitch beep even indicates getting past post in the first place. Any advice on course of action be much appreciated. Edited by ASRock_TSD - 18 Jan 2021 at 3:50pm |

Dear Bees,
Thank you for posting! One beep means that the system has booted. Try checking the monitor cable and monitor to see if both can work properly. Also, please try to plug to different ports of the graphics card to see if it helps. If it still does not help, please try: 1. Plug the graphics card into the second PCIe slot. 2. Please clear CMOS. 3. Install only one RAM to the B2 slot. 4. If possible, kindly try with a different graphics card. With thanks, ASRock TSD Edited by ASRock_TSD - 18 Jan 2021 at 2:23pm |
