Hi,
I am building a new PC using the following components: ASRock Motherboard Z270 Gaming K4 Intel 7th Gen Intel Core Desktop Processor i7-7700K Corsair Vengeance LED 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200 (PC4-25600) Crucial MX300 1TB SATA 2.5 Inch Internal Solid State Drive Corsair Hydro Series H80i v2 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler Corsair RMx Series, RM650x, 650W, Fully Modular Power Supply No graphics card yet ... planning to use integrated graphics till system boots up and windows installed. I got all components installed/connected but when I power up, no video output thru on-board HDMI. Motherboard red LED keeps blinking, all fans working, PSU is on, no beep. I have checked the following: 1. RAM seated properly and installed in A2 and B2 slots 2. 24-pin and 8-pin 12V ATX power connectors are connected properly 3. CPU seated properly 4. Corsair cooler pump connected to water pump fan connector, 2x radiator fan connected to CPU fan connector 5. Case fans connected correctly 6. SSD sata connected to SATA0 and power 7. Double check system panel headers (power/reset button, HHD led, power led) 8. Audio header connected Connected to my working monitor (used in my other PC, temporarily disconnected to setup new PC build). I tried HDMI and DisplayPort but no output on both (No signal displayed on monitor). I also tried it on a working TV using HDMI and same issue is observed. I have searched the internet for solutions but so far none worked, problem persists. I even tried taking out (and back in) the CMOS battery and even clear CMOS. Anybody experienced similar/same issue and have fix? Any help will be very much appreciated. Thanks, Rolando

Not sure how you tested displayport (adapter?) as the board does not have a DP output but have you tried the D-Sub or DVI outputs? I have seen a few instances where HDMI was problematic, usually due to bad cables or incompatible devices. HDMI is not as unified as a standard as I would like, there are a few variables that make troubleshooting with it a pain.

Hi,
I tried DP using a dedicated video card which I temporarily took out from my other PC. I can confirm the HDMI cable works fine. I will try to find a DVI cable and try that out thanks! |

Update:
After trying everything and no solution, I decided to get another motherboard (ASRock Z270 Gaming K6). Re-installed everything and this time it worked ... no issues at all. I guess I got a defective ASRock K4 motherboard. |
