I've been a big fan of Asrock motherboards for years, they just... work, and I've never had a single problem with any that I've ever used.
At present, I using an old Asrock Z97 Extreme 6. I love it, except for one little nitpicky feature. Using the nVME m.2, disables two of the Sata Ports. Well, I'm thinking about upgrading and I'm debating between an AM4 with a 5800x3d... Or going up to an AM5 with a 7600x or 7700x. I'm really liking the features on the Riptide motherboards, except for one thing. The Riptide X570S PG says in its specs that, like my current motherboard, using the nVME m.2 will disable two of the Sata Ports. But the Riptide B650E PG does not list any such detail within its specs? So does this mean that if I want to utilize all the M.2 ports, and all the Sata Ports... Then the B650E PG is the one to go with? Or does it still disable some of the Sata Ports and its just not listed on its product specs? Are there any other models that do NOT disable any Sata Ports when all the m.2 slots are being used? |

I should add that I also currently own a Samsung 950 Pro 512GB m.2 SSD which is my current Boot drive; and also a Samsung 850 Evo 500GB m.2 SSD.
I am looking at buying an additional Samsung 980 Pro 2TB m.2 SSD.. so I will have three total. I plan to use the 980 Pro as the main boot drive on the Blazing m.2 Slot... then put the 950 Pro and 850 Evo into the two Ultra m.2 Slots. I also have a pair of Crucial 1TB SATA SSD's that I plan to keep, and adding a Samsung Evo 870 2TB SATA; and keeping my existing Bluray SATA Drive. This will use ALL the existing SATA ports on the Riptide B650E PG, and well as all its M.2 slots. So I want to be sure that its possible to do this with this specific motherboard, as according to the specs for the X570, its not.... even though technically the X570 is fewer m.2 slots and more Sata Ports, I still don't like the idea of disabling any of the Sata Ports cause if I went with the X570 then I would be buying 1 or 2 additional Sata SSD's to go with it. |
