Hello all,
I recently built a computer with a Ryzen 2600x, a B450M Pro 4 (bios 3.5), and 2 sticks of ram (I know Ryzen is fiddly with ram so here's the exact one I got https://www.newegg.ca/ballistix-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820164125?Item=N82E16820164125&nm_mc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel&cm_mmc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel-_-Content-_-text-_-) With all settings on stock (xmp disabled - ram showing up as 2400 in windows and Ryzen Master) I am seeing voltages (vcore) that range from .7 to 1.45. I am looking at Ryzen Master as well as HWiNFO and I ran several different Windows Power Options. On Power Saver it usually sticks to .7-.9, on Performance it stays somewhere in the range of 1.2 to 1.45 usually around 1.4 and on Balanced it ranges from .7 when I am doing literally nothing (idle) to 1.45. The thing is on Balanced it jumps to 1.4 when I just move my mouse. It seems to me these voltage numbers are a bit high. Am I wrong about that? I'm a bit of a noob, first time building a computer and all. At work I have an i7 that never goes above 1.1v. These Ryzen numbers seem a bit high? Are they safe? What is the range of safe voltages for my setup? And if I do decide to bring down these numbers how would I do it? |
