Anyone experience losing USB keyboard and mouse after booting to Windows 7 Pro 64-bit? I am trying boot to my pre-existing WIN7 installation from previous build, and while it boots into Windows login screen just fine, I lose USB keyboard and mouse completely at that point. Booting in Safe Mode also loses USB keyboard and mouse functionality. USB Legacy mode is enabled in BIOS. This seems to me to be a Windows 7 USB driver issue, but the only drivers I can find through ASROCK are for WIN 10. I thought about using PS/2 keyboard adapter so that I could at least log in to my Windows install and play around with drivers, but I just moved into a new place and I think they packed away still. :( I will test this as soon as I can though. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. ---------------------------------------------------- Build specs: Current BIOS: 1.20 Original BIOS: 1.10 ASRock Z370 Taichi LGA 1151 (300 Series) Intel Z370 Intel Core i7-8700K Coffee Lake 6-Core 3.7 GHz (4.7 GHz Turbo) LGA 1151 (300 Series) G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) F4-3600C17Q-32GTZR EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 GAMING, 11G-P4-6696-KR Samsung 850 Pro SSD 1TB -- WIN7 Pro 64-bit

Dear Strngrmon,
Thank you for choosing ASRock and contacting us.
Regarding your case, because Intel has removed their support for the Enhanced Host Controller Interface since 100 series chipset, so the USB won?™t work under Windows 7 because OS doesn't have the suitable driver. You can try to enable the PS/2 Simulator option in UEFI BIOS. Path: Advanced > USB Configuration > PS/2 Simulator By doing so allows your onboard USB to function as a PS/2 port, then your USB keyboard mouse can work at Windows 7. Please set PS/2 Simulator back to disabled after the driver installation. *Note: Intel 300 Series chipset officially only support Windows 10 64-bit operating system.
Thank you! Yours truly, ASRock TSD |
