Dear all,
currently I am overclocking my i9 7980XE (delidded, water) on my ASROCK X299 Prof. Gaming i9 using an EK monoblock. My temps should be fine up to 1.3V and more i'd say. Any how, my system hardly turns off if I use voltages @ ~1.2-1.3V at 4600 Mhz on all 18 cores. More voltage doesn't help, less instead seem to improve the stability. Lets say I do Cinebench @ 4600 and 1.18V i only get CB to crash, System itself fine. If I do with 1.25V - bäm machine off in 2s, and automatically turns back on 1s later. My Seasonic 1000W platinum PSU can do 1000W on a singel 12V rail. That should not be the issue but the system pulls 600W from my wall on cinebench 4600 Mhz @ 1.2V. Is the Board limiting here? How to find out? That makes me wondering as these guys here: http://www.legitreviews.com/intel-core-i9-7980xe-18-core-processor-review_197903/10 get up to 4900 Mhz and 800W to be cinebench stable on an ASUS X299 Delux board. And i hardly believe its my silicon limiting here as running 4600 cinebench @ 1.2 V isnt that bad. may i need to increase any specific other values in my EFI? For now almost all is on auto, Offset Vcore @ 1.2, LLC 2, 46 multi, 30 mesh, 1.1 V mesh, 2.1V CPU In. Thanks for your Ideas and help. @ ASROCK what is the maximum power draw for that MB until it shuts down? Is it somewhere around 500 Watts?

okay, was related to my PSU. Used the second CPU header now on the 1000W Seasonic. Yould crank the gear up:
and daily with power saving settings: http://www.overclock.net/t/1638490/asrock-x299-oc-formula-oc-guide-living-review/130#post_26472717 -> 4600Mhz
-> Speedstep enabled -> C-States all enabled -> Speed Shift "native" = enabled -> Mesh Clock adaptiv max 3200 Mhz -> adaptive Vcore 1.215V -> adaptiv Mesh Voltage 1.1V -> VCPU IN 2.0V 92W idle consumption with pump, 3 fans, aquaero ink 10Gbe Nic |
