Hi all,
i Have built a new system based on 7700K, and Z270 Supercarrier motherboard, now i have some issues with the new pc, its a bit hard to explaine but i try, after installing windows 10 and install the driver for the peripherals, such hd audio, 5gb lan by aquantia, when the installation prompt a restart the pc wouldnt do the restart correctly, the debug display error 99, oe error 48, if i press the power button and the pc shut down, adn do a cold boot it work correctly. this error seems to be fixed after i have disabled the csm option on the bios 2 problem: problems with 5gb lan aquantia, googling in these arock forums i decided to update the driver to the last out, and at reboot from windows i get debug 48, after i press reset i get A2, and as up if i completely shut down the pc and do a cold boot it boot up just fine, if i disable the 5gbit lan from bios or device manager the pc do the restart normally i cant figure what is the problem, if is the board faulty or is just a bad windows 10, but with these options disabled the pc works just fine what i have tried: change ram, in any slot and other brand change ssd/hdd port, and cable reseat cpu and loosened the cooler move to other pci the vga, and boot with only integrated tried another psu update/downgrade the bios complete config: i7 7700K Z270 supercarrier TridentZ RGB 3200MHZ 16 gb(2x8) 1x samsung 850 evo 250Gb 1x crucial mx300 525gb evga 850g2 850W Gtx 1080 galax Hall of Fame corsair H115i thanks for any help Edited by UberPizius - 30 Jul 2017 at 4:54am |

About the first problem: Did you install the INF driver ver:10.1.1.38 and the Intel Management Engine driver ver:11.6.0.1126, from your board's download page? Both are essential for your board's basic operation, and should be the first drivers you install. http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z270%20SuperCarrier/index.asp#osW1064 Disabling the CSM option should have no affect in fixing the restart problem. All that does is put the PC into UEFI booting mode, which won't work unless you installed Windows 10 in UEFI booting mode, and have the OS drive GPT partitioned. The CSM option may have reset to enabled automatically if you did not install Windows in UEFI booting mode. Did you check that CSM is still set to disabled? Every time you update the UEFI/BIOS, all the options are set to their defaults, and the default CSM setting is Enabled. Your board has the Intel SATA III ports, and the add on ASMedia SATA ports. The Intel SATA ports are much better and should always be used for the OS/Windows drive. Booting from the ASMedia SATA ports will be slower and not as good as using the Intel SATA ports. Did you have only the target OS drive installed in the PC when you installed Windows? If not, the Windows installer put the system/boot partition on a different drive. That can cause problems. A Dr Debug code of 48 means a memory problem. Did you have your memory running at 3200 when that happened? A Dr Debug code of 99 is a problem with a PCIe device. Second problem: The Aquantia LAN driver has been a problem since the AQC108 LAN chip began to be used with Windows 10. Windows 10 broke the Teaming feature of the Intel LAN chips, that has worked for many years. After almost two years, Intel has still not completely fixed the Teaming feature. That is just an example of problems Windows 10 can have with LAN drivers. Since you are using Windows 10, I am sure Windows tried to install a Aquantia driver, but who knows which one. We have had the best results downloading this driver directly from the Aquantia website. Windows 10 has many different versions that are constantly changing, and Aquantia has been updating their drivers to be compatible with the Windows 10 changes and updates. Go to the page below to download the Aquantia AQC108 driver. Select AQC108 for the Part Number, and then complete selecting the Platform (Windows) and Language: http://www.aquantia.com/driver-download/ Windows 10 update has caused more problems when installing Windows then anything else I have ever seen. I do not connect the PC to the Internet when installing Windows 10, and do not connect it to the Internet until after I have installed all the drivers and software that is needed. I disable any automatic driver updates done by Windows. You have a very sophisticated and complex mother board. It is too early to decide that the board has problems, you must install all the drivers and configure the UEFI options as needed before you can decide that the board is the cause of any problem. If a hardware or driver problem prevents the PC from restarting, that does not mean the board is bad. You must install the two drivers I listed above. When Windows is being installed the PC restarts itself several times. If those restarts worked, why would another restart after installing a driver fail? Did you have the memory or CPU over clocked at that time? |

thanks for the fast reply
here is what i do when i do a fresh installation: disconnect the internet, and boot from uefi usb with the os iso, after the install i have installed all the driver found in the asrock support, for any device, including the two for the mei and chipset, i even download the latest from intel site, same for the aquantia lan driver, that i found here from other users issue. at time of installation the primary ssd was on sata0 port, pc not overclocked, only xmp enabled and memry running at 3200mhz as specs with this method win 10 cant install his driver, i think, but when doing a installation for the driver and ask me a reboot the board show me that debug codes the csm option allowed me to enter the bios in full hd, that was not possible with that eneabled, after any bios update/downgrade i changed the csm, i i have the ultra fast boot enabled the option dont show in the bios. Update: this morning doing a cold boot the pc has done 3 long beep then started normally Now i'm going to try another drive with windows 7/8.1, but sincerely i'm a bit confused, after years building pc i have never encounterd a problem so weird, i really love the board, it s fanstastic and hpe its ok thanks again |

Why do you think I am not telling you what your issues are, IF I knew what was wrong? I wish I knew what the cause of your problems are, and the fixes, if I did I would tell you right away. It seems it is mainly the Aquantia LAN that causes problems. Did you have it connected to a router/Internet? I have never used the Z270 SuperCarrier board, and have never used an ASRock board with the Aquantia LAN chip. So I don't have any personal experience with them. I have seen others users with the Aquantia LAN chip have good results using the driver download I suggested. Otherwise, that is all I know about it. If you have Ultra Fast boot enabled, the CSM option will be removed from the UEFI/BIOS, that is normal. The Ultra Fast boot option is really speeding up the POST process, which might be skipping some of the initialization of the Aquantia chip, but I'm NOT sure. Do not use the Ultra Fast boot option until you can get the Aquantia LAN working. |

sorry fot bothering you parsec, thats not my intention to offend you, not al all!!!
now, after doing some other test i have found that the driver i have installed was wrong ![]() ![]() when i try to install the driver you have listed i get an error and the problem of strange restart debug codes come back. in the folder of download of the new driver there are 2 folder, 32bit and 64 bit, now obvsly need the 64 bit, inside the 64 bit are three other folder, named respectively: installer, with the .exe of installation inside MUP, with a zipped folder that contain another setup.exe standalone driver, wich contains the only driver for the win10 and older sistems wich i should install? For the RAM compatibility, asrock mobo work better with the memory in 1-3 slot? or its not relevant? now the pc work fine, maybe the corrupted ram module is joking me and cant provide a correct installation? could have corrupted the windows installation? next week i should receive a new kit of ram, let s see what happens, i will do a fresh win10 installation and see if can install the driver correctly thanks again!!! ![]() ![]() Edited by UberPizius - 30 Jul 2017 at 8:36pm |

hello guys, after some time i need some more help
after doing some troubleshooting i managed to get the pc totally working, i ve changed ram, now i have 2x8gb 3200mhz of Corsair dominator platinum ddr4, for the aquantia Lan chip: even with the latest driver my pc wont run correctly, at reboot freeze, only with the first driver is working fine, but i have disabled from the bios and everything works just fine no idea if its the driver conflicting with the bios, because at restart freeze on A2, for my opinion seems it try to boot from lan, but i have disabled the waker on lan and other boot device except for the ssd with windows any help is appreciate second and new problem: today, turning on the pc, it has done 5 short beeps, then started normally, works just fine now, but reading on line seem a cpu error. i really begin to think the mobo is defective thanks for aby help, i really wanted this mainboard, but now is a nightmare ![]() ![]() |

I think this board is really a mistake.
I had a few pieces and they all had the same defects. 1) wifi card does not work (low sensitivity and does not connect) 2) some BIOS settings are not applied. 3) some of the usual BIOS settings are not exist 4) devices that you turn off in the BIOS (EFI) will not simply turn off. 5) The board behaves differently each time 6) After installing 4 graphics boards the board always dies. Never in my life I have seen on my records damaged PINs on the socket. Here I got two boards with a damaged CPU socket. I do not understand why they sell it at all. I recommend that you stop wasting time, you have a faulty piece. If the BIOS reflash, reset to default and new settings does not work, return the motherboard. There is no problem witch Windows! |
