Dear all,
ive got a 7980 XEy, clocked ~ 4100 with frew cores at a higher clock. Cooled by a water block (mono block, so cool VRMS). Running two FFMPEG instances for 100% cpu load and 380W reported package power, I can see the clock jumping between 2666Mhz and my adjusted clocks. It seems to throttel every few seconds. Running one FFMPEG instance, it is around 80% cpu load and 330W reported package power, it keeps the clock up on max. The Cinebench Scores itself are fine but that might be a too short timespan. I wonder what is going on and how I might be able to ged rid of that weird throttel. Settings: 12x 4100 @ 1.07V 6x 4700 @ 1.30V ![]() ![]() -> jumping visible here: https://abload.de/img/2017-12-0807_04_19-olh3kvx.png BIOS 1.40A. Any EFI setting to play with? I changed the power limits in the EFI settings from AUTO to long term 600W and short 1000W, seems to solve it. But ill report later on if the problem persists. Any how, neither hW info nor the intel tool reported a motherboard tdp limit notification.
