Im running a B450M Pro4 in a Asus Tuf GT501 case that comes with a 140mm exhaust fan (4-Pin) and 3 120mm RGB fans (3-Pin). I previously had this mobo and setup in case with 4 120mm fans (4-Pin) and had no issues with Fan RPM readings. Once I transferred everything to the Asus Tuf GT501 case and hooked up the supplied fans the 3 120mm RGB fans would read in BIOS and monitoring software 1200rpm to 2500rpm with occasional and brief spikes to 18000rpm to 58000rpm. Per ASUS website on this case they are only rated at 1200rpm. The exhaust fan and both cpu fans are reading correctly and are all 4 pin fans. Is there something with 3 pins fans besides switching from PWM mode to auto or dc that could be causing these erroneous readings?
Here is a link to my reddit post with a picture of case fan details and the HWINFO64 display showing readings. Chassis1 and Chassis2. |
