I am liking my motherboard and I am having a problem with 1333OC settings. My computer boots fine when OCing my Core 2 Quad Q9550 to about 2.4GHz and games run great and have not had any problems yet, but when I go above 2.4GHz to about 2.5GHz my game freezes right after 12 seconds of gameplay.
When browsing the internet or listening to music the computer does not crash. I hope you people can help me, do you know how to fix the problem?. I also have the latest GPU drivers, and the game I am having a problem in is Counter Strike Global Offensive, it's the game I am testing my OC to see if it is stable. I have DDR3 Crucial memory which are good I also have some OCing experience which are good, I know how to change bios settings and I hope some one can help fix my problem. Here is my PC configuration. Core 2 Quad Q9550 DDR3 8GB 1333 Nvidia GTX 960 2GB Windows 10 x64 Thank you everyone for reading my post. |

I want to say I am using bios version 1.10, I just flashed to bios 1.00b which I wanted to see if it will work but I was not able to OC to 2.5GHz.
I just flashed to bios 1.10 again and also I am unable to OC to my current OC which was 2.4 but it is working at 2.2. It seems like some settings got changed and now I need help. Does anyone have any tips?. I am getting blue screens at above 2.2GHz now. |

There are no guarantees when OC'ing. It is a trial and error process. You can damage the mobo and or the processor. Over time an OC will degrade components. When changing clock speeds one may have to increase voltages and or reduce memory timings. Good luck in your journey.

Thank you for the good overclocking tips, and I want to say I really had a good time learning how to overclock my pc. I have managed to overclock my cpu to 2.8 with 1333 fsb. I have bios 1.00b and I hope others with the same board read my post if they are having problems like me, and are not able to overclock there pc that need help.
I thought I had a gpu driver problem but it was not the problem, the problem was the NB voltage. I had to turn it down and now my pc games are not freezing any more. Also make sure you buy DDR3 ram with 1333 fsb and also low density, you need low density ram, I am using 8gb in the ASRock G41c GS 2.0. These tips are for the Core 2 Quad cpus with 1333 fsb. I am very glad I have been able to overclock my pc with the ASRock G41c GS 2.0 motherboard. |
