I have a question regarding the installment of a M.2 SSD to my motherboard as an extra storage disk.
I currently own a As-rock extreme 4 z77 motherboard and would like to add a second SSD to my setup. Currently, I have one SATA SSD connectedt my system which I use to boot windows 7 from. So as it stands I have a Plexor M8PeG 512 Gb M.2 SSD which is connected to a StarTech x4 PCI Express to M.2 PCIe SSD, Adapter. In my bios (version 2.90P beta) under hardware overview it states that a ''Marvell mass storage device'' is connected to my mobo however, upon booting into windows nothing appears under disk managment and windows tries but fails to install drivers for a new PCI device. I've tried installing drivers for the disk as offered by plexor but they can't find a device. I've also tried connecting it to the PCI slot which my GPU uses with no success. Any suggestions? EDIT: I now see a plexor boot screen before that of ASrock and upon starting windows it was able to install drivers for the newly connected device. However, I still can't detect the SSD under storage > disk managment . Setup: Windows 7 Intel i7 3770K 8 gb ram Boot disk: Adata SSD (SATA) Storage: seagate barracuda (SATA) Edited by Bob - 20 Dec 2017 at 3:01am |
