I've been puzzling over this for a long time. Here's the gist of the problem: my computer goes into a seemingly infinite boot loop, but I can get it to work the boot cycle at the right moment.

If left on its own at startup, my computer will enter an infinite boot loop. The fans will start turning for a few seconds, no signal will be transmitted to the monitor. Then the computer suddenly turns off. Rinse and repeat.
While the computer is in this switched off state, I generally step in and manually pull the plug. If I get the timing right, I can bring the current back, press start, and I can go on with my day. On the other hand, if I don't wait for the capacitors to discharge entirely and press start, then the fans will start whirring again and I have to catch the next cycle to get it right.

It looks like a classic case of the ghost computer to me. Anyway, I'm wondering what part of the computer is the capacitors keeping juiced up? Why is waiting the only way to get my computer to start normally? And most importantly, any thoughts on how to solve the problem?

I have a B85M Pro4 motherboard, intel i5, and recently upgraded RAM. Thanks for your time.
