Troubleshooting help with x370 and ryzen 3000

So I recently bought a 2080 super and a 3800x my x370 is giving me issues I updated the bios to 5.50 and updated the chipset the pc still works with my old 1600x and the 2080 super is working fine I have no idea what to do did I get a bad chip should I get a new board . I also bought a new psu but It works fine when I use it with my 1600x and 2080 super. any help would be appreciated thanks.

If you have ryzen 3000 you should update bios to 5.60 or 5.80

Why are you giving wrong proposals to an alreay outdated issue?
The thread starter did an update with his Gen1 CPU to the correct 5.50 Version for starting with the Gen3 CPU.

I see you did not bother reading the release notes for the bios versoins 5.60 and 5.80

not until we know the problem is but in theory his cpu should work on 5.5
