Hi guys :) that?™s my first post here :) And I need a bit of your help. So ...

I have the ASRock z97 fatality killer motherboard. I want to add a Samsung Evo Plus 970 500gb as primary / boot drive because my c:/ is 120 gb and is already full. My motherboards has one m2 slot that right now is occupied from an Intel 250 fb (not NVMe). I have to options.

Option 1. Buy a Samsung evo plus 970 500gb. Buy a m2 to SATA case and put my intel 250gb m2 drive inside and all good. Option 2. Buy a Samsung evo 860 1tb without having to buy an extra case for my old intel m2 since I will not have to remove it.

Problems - Questions Option 1. The 970 evo plus 500gb costs here 110 euro + 10 more euro for the m2 - SATA case I need for my old m2 drive. Option 2. The 860 is way more expensive (and I don?™t know why) it costs here 165 euro. 50 euro more.

I care about space, gb but I already have 4 ssd and 2 hdd on my system.

The whole question I have is

If I update my bios (it?™s required for my mobo from what I read to be able to boot from Samsung) from p1.30 to p2.50 IF I BUY the 970 would I be able to get high speeds ? I know I can?™t get the full bandwidth of 3500 mbps but will I get over 550 mbps that I get now from the ssd ?

Is my motherboard 100% supporting this newest type-model (I speak about the 970)

If the 860 was similar price with 970 I wouldn?™t even considering it. I would have gone straight for the biggest capacity but know the difference is 50 euro so I am thinking if I could at least get higher speeds by ?śmigrating??from an ssd to a NVMe
