Hello I just want to ask something about Updating BIOS.
Im currently using Ryzen 3 1300x MOBO: ASRock AB350M-HDV BIOS version P1.30 and im upgrading it to Ryzen 5 3500x. When I look at the CPU supportlist my CPU now says VALIDATED BIOS P2.40. Does it means when I updated it to P3.40 (Bridge BIOS) my pc will not boot? if it doesnt what update path should I use to get to P6.0 for my ryzen 5 3500x. Im new on this things please help me, Thank you so much more power

The answer to your question is at the top of the CPU support list for your board

Quote
CPU Support List
Note1: AMD Ryzen 1xxx series CPUs are able to boot up with all BIOS versions. As to AMD Ryzen 2xxx series CPUs, please update the BIOS to the same as list or later version.
Note2: For Ryzen series CPU, both Tray and Box version can be supported.
Note3: Some of AMD CPU does not have integrated graphics processor. When this kind of CPU is installed, a discrete VGA card is required.

So you need to update to the bridge BIOS then from there you can go directly to
the latest BIOS version. Always use the instant flash method from within your
BIOS and always make sure to "Load UEFI Defaults" before updating. Using the
instant flash method is the safest way to update your BIOS and if there is ever
a specific update needed before another update it will not provide you the
option to update until that version is flashed first (like your bridge BIOS).

Bridge BIOS then latest version is all you will need. All versions will boot with
your CPU so no need to worry there. If you do encounter an issue you can always
post back here or contact ASRock directly:

Good luck

P3.40(bridge) > P5.50 > P6.00? or P3.40(bridge) to P6.00 directly?
