Help! I have a corrupt BIOS. I had random, unexplainable shutdowns in Windows, so I reflashed the BIOS, but strangely, it shutdown in the middle. Now I can only boot into the Windows recovery environment. I cannot get into the BIOS (reboots if you press F2/del). Is there any way to flash the BIOS from Windows or any other environment?
I have a X570M Pro4. Apparently, there were Windows versions of some BIOS flashers with extension WIN.zip instead of the usual ROM. Example: AB350 Gaming K4(3.40)WIN.zip But I can't find any for the X570M Pro4. Is there a way to craft one? Any other ideas? |

NVM, I found the issue. The crashes were not because of the BIOS, but because of an overheating CPU due to the fan failing. Once it cooled down, it's back to normal. Phew, what a relief
![]() I think I did find a way to manually flash the BIOS. I think it's called Flashback and doesn't even need a CPU installed. http://download.asrock.com/TSD/Ryzen5000/X570M%20Pro4.pdf |

Yes, new motherboards have Flashback feature. Older ones, unfortunately, don't :) |

Can Flashback be used on a failed BIOS update? I tried to upgrade from 3.30 to 3.40 and the screen went blank in the middle and never showed anything on the screen again. Waited a while typed enter hoing it was done but nothing. Continual blank screen. Hopefully Flashback will work.

Back to the question in the title. Yes you can flash a BIOS from Windows, but you have a really good chance of bricking the board. Best practice is to flash from the command line or from within the Bios itself using Instant Flash. |
