Dear ASRock,

I am from India, Recently I have bought the Taichi Ultimate z390 Motherboard following is my specs.

Intel i7-9700K
Z390 Taichi Ultimate
16GB x 2 DDR4 3200 Corsair Vengeance
1 x Samsung 970Pro 512GB NVMe
1 x Samsung 970EVO Plus 1TB NVMe
Corasir RM-1000x PSU
Corasir 760T Graphite Series Cabinet

I really love the Z390 Taichi Ultimate Motherboard as it has all the slots which i ever need with that price. but...

I didn't read and i never know about the following conditions before purchasing the motherboard.

*M2_1, SATA3_0 and SATA3_1 share lanes. If either one of them is in use, the others will be disabled.
If M2_2 is occupied by a SATA-type M.2 device, SATA3_3 will be disabled.
M2_3, SATA3_4 and SATA3_5 share lanes. If either one of them is in use, the others will be disabled.

I have installed my M2.SSDs in M2.2 (slot) and M2.3 (slot) (Heatsink) respectively.

Now I am able to use SATA3_A1, SATA3_A2, SATA3_0, SATA3_1, SATA3_2 and SATA3_3 so total 6 SATA3 Ports is working.

What i don't understand is why you are using this kind of technology? and I was never told by my system builder about this perhaps he is not aware of it.

And as I read somewhere in this forum that if i want to use all the SATA3 Ports only the M2_2 slot should be used, if so what about the rest of M2 slots? and how do i use my second M2 SSD?

Please tell me how do i make use of all M2 Slots and All SATA3 Ports

Thanks
prathaprabhu

No point in whining, with respect. It's just a new kind of handling the technology. I also didn't know it before, but did read the manual in advance to get aware of this relatively new aspect, which BTW is used in all other newer motherboards of other brands too.
Obviously it's an arrangement to make best use of the "resources" by assumption that in general rule either mainly the sata ports OR the m.2 slots are used. No way to get around this. Best to buy a SATA-to-PCIE-adaptercard for more SATA ports, the simple models of them are relatively cheap.

This condition is common to most Intel boards and some that use AMD for M.2
