Recently bought ASRock Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming-ITX/ac MB. Was looking for 32GB RAM modules. Asked at ASRock Support Form. Still no answer.

  • Will Samsung M378A4G43MB1-CTD, Corsair CMK32GX4M1A2666C16 and CMK32GX4M1D3000C16 (all corresponding kits 32GB x 2, 32GB x 4, 32GB x 8) work on ASRock Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming-ITX/ac?

  • PCI-E bifurcation 1x16x to 4x4x

  • It's possible to split PCI-E 1x16x to 2x8x port enabling Riser Card Support option UEFI. Talk about Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming-ITX/ac riser card

Is it possible to make PCI-E 1x16x to 4x4x?

Dear Coool,

Thank you for choosing ASRock.

Regarding your question, we have test Samsung M378A4G43MB1-CTD at our lab, can boot up with Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming-ITX/ac BIOS P4.00 properly.

About PCI-E bifurcation, Intel 300 series only supports x16 to x8x8.
Four x4 only support at HEDT like x299 chipset.

Thank you!
Yours truly,
ASRock TSD

Good to know M378A4G43MB1-CTD module is supported. Do you plan to test Corsair modules too?

Isn't CPU responsible about PCI-E bifurcation. Based on
Configure PCI-Express* Lanes for Simultaneous Applications?! Table 2-12. PCI Express* Bifurcation and Lane Reversal Mapping at page 29 states these possible PCI Express Configurations - Up to 1x16, 2x8, 1x8+2x4 and Table 6-7. Reset and Miscellaneous Signals at page 109 reference CFG[6:5]: PCI Express* Bifurcation options needed configure in BIOS prior MB initialization in 8th and 9th Generation IntelĀ® Core??Processor Families Datasheet, Volume 1 of 2.

How MB manufacturers realizing Hot-Plug PCI-E support?

Thanks.

PCI-E 1x16x to 2x8x port enabling Riser Card Support option UEFI

configure option CFG[6:5] - 10 (2 x8 mode). By default option CFG[6:5] - 11 to operate in 1x16 mode.

Thanks.
