So I just upgraded to z390 taichi from z370 Exteme4 and I have few questions... The board has 2 ethernet port, which one do I use? And there are 2 power ports 8pin + 4pin.. Do I use them both or just the 8 pin? All I'm trying to do is to have the same OC as I had on the extreme4 and 8700k which was 5ghz at 1.265v LLC 2 with XMP2 for the ram.

The board should work fine with just the 8pin hooked up but if you have a spare CPU 4pin connector from your PSU it wouldn't be a bad idea to connect it, it will just spread the power draw between the 3 4pin connectors (the 8pin is just a 4+4) and reduce heat to a small extent.
As for the Ethernet, you can use either, both should perform identically. If you have 2 cables running to your Router you can set up teaming and increase your bandwidth from the router to your system. Google/youtube should have a guide for you to follow. It's only really useful if you have a very high speed net connection (greater than 1gb/s) or if you want to transfer files to another system that also has a teamed connection. Fun to play with however ![]() |
