I'm something of a late adopter who sits back and waits to see if new hardware, operating systems, etc. are any good before 'upgrading' to them. Sometimes, I wait quite a while until something like the end of official support is looming on the horizon before I upgrade, especially when it comes to operating systems. I don't even really want to go from 32 bit to 64 bit very badly, but I see that a lot of new games require 64 bit now and I've read somewhere that my video card may not get new 32 bit drivers after the Release 390 is out.
I'm considering upgrading from Windows 8.1 32 bit to either 64 bit Windows 8.1 or 64 bit Windows 10 but I'm trying to minimize how much hardware I'll have to replace. I have an H55M-LE motherboard with 4 GB of 669.3 MHz DDR3 RAM on one stick; an Intel Core i3 540 @ 3.07 GHz proc; an EVGA GeForce GT 740; and a Sound Blaster Audigy sound card. I see on the ASRock website that the 'newest' drivers listed are for 64 bit Windows 7 for most things for this motherboard, so I'm wondering if this motherboard will even work with Windows 10. Thanks in advance for your help. |
