I have the Z270 Taichi motherboard.

I have 4 banks of memory, same specs and same company.

One is a pair of 16 gb.

The other is a pair of 32 gb.

The manual say same size, same memory ...

Mine is same pair, but in pair of difference size.

is this OK?

It did not do it for me.

First time I see it never boot up.  It keep recycling.

Reseat the 2nd time and it will only boot for 2 sec and shut off.

I wonder what is going on.

Replace with new memory and they are good just like the old ones.

I wonder what is going on.  Any ideas?

I even did a clear CMOS.

What mother board ? You stated a z270. The 8000 series cpu will not run on a 200 series motherboard. It has to have a 300 series board.

first of all its a 3000mhz so inorder for the board to even boot that you need to up the VCCIO and VCCSA voltages. Asrock has weird bios too. first enable xmp and above enabling xmp there is something called Dram Tweaker. click on Dram tweaker and it will bring you a list, and on the top side you should see XMP 3000 click on that and it will bring red dots on all the speeds, then click okay. when you do this your XMP Dram frequency might reset so manualy set the Dram frequency back to 3000. then you need to go into Voltage config. make sure your Dram Voltage is at 1.35V if it says Auto and on the left of Auto it says 1.35V go ahead and type in 1.35 in the box. Then look at VCCIO voltage. VCCIO voltage should be at 0.950. for that 3000mhz speed i would first try 1.10V for VCCIO. then look at VCCSA. VCCSA should be at like 1.150 i believe by default. Leave VCCSA alone for now. Now save changes and try booting up. Make sure your boot order is correct too. If it boots up know that its a voltage thing you need to figure out. If it does boot, Download Prime95 and run a Blend test for about 20 mins. see if any of the workers stop working while the test is going. If you see none of the workers stop then you are good. If you do see it stop then know you have to up the VCCIO voltage a little. maybe to 1.20V

If you see your computer not booting up after changing the VCCIO to 1.10V then go ahead and go into bios again and take it to 1.20V.  ( After changing to VCCIO to 1.10V and it still does not boot up, you might go into bios again and see your ram speeds are at 3000 and it did not go back down to 2133, that is a good sign that means you just need a little more voltage for stability.

Take VCCIO up first before touching VCCSA. you might not even have to jump from 1.10 to 1.20 you can do 1.15 if it does not boot.

you should be able to boot at 1.10 tho.

sorry VCCSA might be 1.05V so don't touch it. But it is more then safe to bring it up to 1.15 if you see setting high VCCIO does not work.

Take a picture of my the post and go into your bios and read post again.
