I built my own computer using an ASRock H270M Pro4 LGA 1151 Intel H270 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX motherboard; however, I am definitely a hardware armature, but you guys made me successful with this first build. Now appreciate some advice on boot order specifically the difference between the Boot Option Priorities, the Hard Drive BBS Priorities and the CD/DVD ROM Drive BBS Priorities? Currently my Boot Options Priorities are set for 1: Windows Boot Manager (Samsung SSD?? where my boot records and Windows OS are stored and I understand the prefix of ?Windows Boot Manager??indicates the entry is the UEFI boot entry and means it uses the Windows EFI boot loader) 2: My CD and 3: Samsung SSD again??(and this, indicating use of legacy BIOS appears wasted). My CMS is Enabled. My Hard Drive BBS Priorities include the SSD, a terabyte hard drive and an older 80 GB hard drive is use for some temporary backups. Neither of the latter has and OS and no other choices are available. My CD/DDVD ROM Drive BBS Priorities has only one entry, my CD There appears no option for a USB memory stick. Searching the forum found others with questions about booting but none discussed my more basic request about these options. theBitz Edited by theBitz - 23 Oct 2018 at 7:44am |
