Hello,
I have a question regarding the MediaTek RZ717 Wi-Fi adapter on the X870E Taichi board and my Wi-Fi mesh. The problem is, that my pc will not use the optimal source in my mesh and this seems to be caused by missing support of the 802.11k standard which is required for mesh steering. While executing "netsh wlan show wirelesscapabilities" shows that DOT11k Neighbor Report is supported, looking at my pc in the Fritz dashboard does not mention 11k, only 11v is listed. And according to the AVM support, 11k needs to be shown here to support mesh steering. Initially, I installed the drivers listed in the X870E Taichi support section (v. 5.3.0.1825) and when using this driver, the Fritz dashboard will show the following for my pc: Wi-Fi 6, 80 MHz, WPA3, 2 x 2, 11v, MU-MIMO (while my Smartphone, which can correctly connect to my repeater shows Wi-Fi 6, 80 MHz, WPA2, 2 x 2, 11k, 11v. Using a newer driver (I tried v. 5.4.0.3119 and v. 5.6.0.3998) strangely the Fritz dashboard won't even list 11v anymore). Since the driver does affect the properties of the adapter, I am wondering which one I can use to enable 11k or if it simply is not possible. My question is - has anybody gotten the RZ717 Wi-Fi adapter working in a Wi-Fi mesh and if so, which drivers are you using? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
