Dear Tminer,

ASRock Z390 Taichi has 8 SATA ports and 3 ultra M.2 slots which supports PCIe Gen3 x4 and SATA3 M.2 SSD.

Because the [M2_1, SATA3_0 and SATA3_1 share lanes] and [M2_3, SATA3_4 and SATA3_5], if either one of them is in use, the others will be disabled.

If you want to connect 8 SATA HDDs, you can only use one PCIe type M.2 at M2_2 slot.

Thank you!

Yours truly,

ASRock TSD

Thanks ASRock_TSD,

As i see the M2_2 slot is right under GPU which is bulky and hot, would that require extra cooling for the SSD?
