I know that NVME is not a sata device but i am getting mixed answers about if a NVME drive will disable sata.. And what port should i use on my Gaming k6 z370 motherboard Top or bottom..? I just bought A 500 Gb PCI Express Nvme drive m.2 and I have a video card installed a 1x network card and a 1x sound card installed.

Dear Syndicator,

Thank you for choosing ASRock.

ASRock Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming K6 has two Ultra M.2 slot, both can support PCIe gen 3 x4 speed.

Because the M.2 slot shares lanes with SATA ports, either one of them is in use, the others will be disabled.

Using the PCIe NVMe M.2 device will not disable any PCIe slot.

Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming K6 also has 3 PCIe 3.0 x16 slots and 3 PCIe 3.0 x1 slots, so the NVMe M.2, graphics card, x1 network card, and x1 sound card can be installed at the same time on Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming K6.

Thank you!

Yours truly,

ASRock TSD

If you get a NVME to PCIe adapter you can use the bottom PCIe x16 (runs at 4x) slot and keep all SATA ports working.
