Hello,
My Thunderbolt Expansion card begins not to work. I guess this happened after Windows updates. It was working flawlessly for a long time with no issue. Motherboard: ASRock X570 Taichi BIOS: Latest 4.60 version. "Thunderbolt" is enabled with "No Security" in BIOS preferences. Thunderbolt Expansion Card: Gigabyte Alpine Ridge 2.0 The device I want to run: Apple Thunderbolt Display 27" OS: Windows 11 with latest updates. GPU: Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti Simply the Thunderbolt Expansion Card is not working now. I tried to install almost all TB3 drivers I can find, but none of them helps now. Drivers I tried so far: - Legacy 16.2.52.250 - Legacy 17.4.79.510 - 1.41.1030.0 - 1.41.1054.0 - 1.41.1094 (says latest) To mention, the driver Gigabyte offers on the website for Alpine Ridge is extremely old (16.2.52.250). This is the story of what happened: - First, the Apple Thunderbolt Display monitor started not to work suddenly. There is nothing wrong with the monitor, it still works with a Mac. I think it happened after the latest Windows 10 updates. I tried to reset the PC by removing everything and reinstalling a fresh Windows 10, nothing changed. - Later I installed Windows 11 and installed the Thunderbolt driver. A strange thing happened, the monitor started to work sometimes but not always. When I start the PC, it sometimes worked and sometimes didn't work. So the rig is (mobo - expansion card - OS - display monitor) still able to work but something is preventing it. - I manually updated the related TB and Display drivers in the "Device Manager" tab. I was aiming to overcome this instability. - Now it is not working at all. I tried all of the drivers I mentioned above. Unplugged and plugged the card and device. Reboot. Restart the PC again by removing everything and making a fresh install. Not working. What shall I do to troubleshoot this case? |
