I have a pair of crucial 3600 CL16 RAM (2x8GB). But I am struggling to get it to run at its advertised speed of 3600MHz, it's stuck at 2666.

Also had a 3200 rated stick, and those would run at around 2133, and the XRM for those also don't work.

Have manually entered the voltages and timings, updated to the latest BIOS, but still won't work. Am I doing something wrong or should I bin this motherboard as it's not built for these memory speeds/Ryzen 3000 series and buy a new one?

what cpu? .. 1st GEN Ryzen's didn't have a very robust memory controller .. 2nd Gen was better .. and 3rd Gen is even better ..

Memory on QVL for your CPU?

I've got a 3700x and people who have this memory are able to run it without a sweat at 3600Mhz on their rigs (Ballistix CL16 Micron E Die). Just wondering if this is a physical barrier with this motherboard.

generally it has more to do with the onboard memory controller in the CPU. It could be part motherboard , part possible dud cpu. You say you are running the 3.70 BIOS?

Yes I'm running the 3.7 BIOS, I've managed to get it to run at 3466Mhz@16-16-16-36 (Soc@1.025, VRAM 1.35V) after a lot of tweaking. I'm now using the 3600 calculated timings using the DRAM calculator, and just dialled down the speed.

I can't seem to get past this speed so I guess I'll have to settle with the tighter timings. Was hoping to get a 1:1 IF ratio, but this will do for now. The only other B450 itx that specifies 3600 compatibility is the ASUS B450i STRIX motherboard, but that costs 1.5x more.
