Hi everyone,

Hope you're all staying safe and working from home in these extraordinary times.

I'm running Ryzen 1600 (no overclocking whatsoever) on a Fatal1ty X370 Gaming-ITX/ac, with 16GB RAM running XMP 2.0 Profile 1.

I'm trying to fix two lingering issues with my PC:

1. Windows 10 restart hangs for minutes before finally shutting down but not actually restarting. I rebooted into safe mode, unplugged all USB devices, etc. still the problem persists. Granted my PC runs rock solid otherwise, but Windows update requires restart every now and then.

I have refreshed Windows 10 (haven't wiped and reinstalled-- that'd be a last resort IMO), updated all the drivers, etc. Also tried to restart with the USB mouse as the only external device-- restart still hangs.

2. The Ethernet port on the motherboard is not working. I tried everything-- the Ethernet adapter is recognized and drivers are installed properly. When I plug it in it just doesn't get any IP address from my router no matter what I try.

I'm using motherboard built-in WiFi and it works just fine. But still. I also bought an USB Ethernet adapter and it just works-- along with all my other devices, so I'm pretty sure my router/Internet setup is fine.

BIOS version is 5.30. I want to see if updating BIOS would solve the restart issue at least but the support page recommends not to for 1st gen Ryzen CPUs.

Should I update the BIOS? Any other troubleshooting tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

Was this setup running properly? ..did you just take a hard drive out of another build and pop it in this setup?

Have you tried deleting the network adapter and removing drivers as well .. in device manager check "Show Hidden Devices" and see if you have any "ghost" hardware showing or items that have an exclamation mark on them .. if you do, remove/uninstall them.

I have the B350 Fatil1ty Gaming ITX/ac in my daughters rig .. I had a little different issue with her Intel wireless not working correctly with ASRock's drives off of their website .. I had to go to Intel's website and get their updated drivers and then everything worked fine..

If your system has never worked right ..then you can try slowing down the memory . .switch from XMP profile to auto and then manually select whatever the next slower speed is and save and reboot .. the 1st GEN Ryzen's didn't have a very robust memory controller and trying to run RAM at its rated speed didn't always pan out ..

You can at least update your BIOS to v.5.50 (I'd do the 5.90 personally ..but go 5.50 and see if everything works alright)
