Hi,
I refer to the page where BIOS is available for downloads for this board.
It says for example for BIOS v 3.9

http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B450M%20Pro4/index.asp#BIOS

*ASRock do NOT recommend updating this BIOS if Pinnacle, Raven or Summit Ridge CPU is being used on your system.

What is the technical significance of this statement?
Does it mean that if I have one of these types of AMD CPU, after update it will not detect the CPU at all?
What if the new board ships with this or higher BIOS and I have bought one of these types of AMD CPU? Will I have then an unbootable system?

Thanks.

Personally I do not believe motherboard will ship with BIOS which does not support initially advertised CPUs. At least I hope they won't, otherwise that would be a major disaster and support PITA.
An, yes, I believe if motherboard shipped with newest BIOS older CPUs would not boot with it (I might be wrong on this)

However, their CPU support page shows that most of those "Ridge" CPUs are supported by latest BIOS. This is extremely confusing and misleading :/

That's why I thought if forum members might be knowing what the facts are!
I have asked Asrock Tech support. Let's see if they have any response.
