Hi, I've updated to the latest BIOS version (2.70) on this board (mainly because I was having issues with the RDRAND instruction and wanted the latest AMD microcode). The first thing I noticed after restart was that the cpu temps were 63-67 and the CPU fan went very noisy when temp raised above 65 degrees celsius. After some tests I found the issue, the "Core Performance Boost" was activated (I guess it's normal, because I didn't change this) and the VCORE was at 1.44 V. Deactivating "Core Performance Boost" fixes the issue (I get normal VCORE values), but now it seems the CPU won't increase clock automatically (Precision Boost). I don't want to OC, but I'd like to have the Precision Boost back, how can I activate it? what about the Core Performance Boost? Do I need/want it?
I checked Precision Boost with Prime95, it doesn't increase clock rates above 3800 MHz under any condition. I'm using the regular Wraith PRISM (stock cooler), I don't intend to OC, just to get Precision Boost working. Thanks. |
