I was trying to setup my new computer and got to Windows and started installing my programs. I had a crash so when I got back into my windows home menu I checked my temps and RAM frequency and saw that I was running at 60+ degrees idle, and my RAM was set to 2400 MHz. So I shut down and went to my bios to enable one of the XMP profiles that my ram kit was rated for, but when I applied changes it didn't boot. No problem, I'll just clear CMOS and try another profile, so that's what I did. It worked and I was able to get into bios to try another profile. This happened a couple of more times (I think my RAM kit is faulty since its supposed to be rated for 3600 CL18), until eventually it just wouldn't let me clear CMOS. I would short the clear CMOS pins but when I would start the system up after nothing would happen, my fans would just go to 100% and just stay there, no video out or anything. At one point I got into the windows safe boot menu but after trying to run diagnostics my screen turned all orange and I had to reboot. Since then whenever I tried to start my computer the fans would just ramp up to 100% and nothing else would happen no matter what I did. I tried to look up the problem but I could not find anyone with the same issue.
If anyone knows what I can do to fix this issue I would be really grateful, I was severely disappointed earlier since I have been looking forward to building my new PC for a while since I had to wait for my case and power supply for over a month after I had everything else. Any help is appreciated! Thank you! |

If you have a way to test with another CPU I would give that a try. All the failed
attempts to POST with your RAM's XMP may have damaged the IMC (Memory controller on the CPU). |
