Hello,
Recently I have updated my PC to AM5 Platform, Build Mobo: Asrock B650M-H/M.2+ Board CPU: AMD Ryzen 8600G RAM: G.Skill Aegis 5 16GBx1 5600MHz DDR5 RAM OS: Tried on both Windows 10 64bit & Linux Mint 22.1 'Xia' Latest version Audio Drivers: Downloaded Latest Drivers from Asrock website under the board. ie. 1. Realtek high definition audio driver ver:6.0.9468.1_Nahimic 2. Nahimic3 utility ver:1.10.2_APO4 All drivers are install on the system with latest versions. The issue I'm facing is with Front Audio Jack Panel has no sound output whatsoever. I have done a lot of troubleshooting like Enabling disabling "Onboard HD Audio" Option in Bios, tried different realtek drivers of the web and still there is no sound from Front Audio Panel on the Cabinet. However Back Audio Jack is working fine. Even the Cabinet is working fine with my old build. I have tried the board on a different cabinet but still there is not sound from front audio jack. There is no option in BOIS/UEFI to enable AC'97 type front panel as it was found in older motherboards to use front audio panel for headphones. anyone facing same issue ? this motherboard is good and this is the only problem currently |

ok here's an update front audio jack is working in "Linux Mint" after using "PulseAudio Volume Control" and changing output ports under "Output Devices" but back audio panel will be muted.
Bad News is that on Windows 10 its not working even after trying "Realtek Audio Console", Front Panel is greyed out. |

ok good news guys now even in Windows 10 front panel audio is working. Simply uninstalled Realtek Drivers + Nahimic then installed Realtek Modded Drivers (AAF Family DCHAudioPack) from https://github.com/AAFOptimus/AAFFamilyDCHAudio, this has a lot of features along with Nahimic. I installed this modded drivers with Nahimic and under "Realtek Audio Console" Disable Front Panel jack detection to "ON" and Front Panel audio is working without any issues. Problem Fixed. Install "Realtek Audio Console" before installing the Modded Drivers.
If I find any official drivers will update. Seems like something is broken between Realtek Drivers + Nahimic. apparently this problem is there on a lot of other motherboards from MSI, Asus, Gigabyte, Asrock as well due to Realtek + Nahimic. Some versions work and some don't. |

Your findings perhaps are very valuable for me. I also have problems with audio on my B850M Pro-A and Ryzen 5 7600X, which has the Rembrandt Audio integrated in its GPU.
My OS is a Manjaro Linux. Rembrandt Audio is supported by Linux Kernel at least since 4.* and I am on 6.10. You have tried Linux Mint. What audio connections are there at input devices and on output devices, when you look at the pavue audio mixer? I have lots of them (too many) like: Input: Monitor of Rembrandt Radeon High Definition Audio Controller Pro Monitor of Rembrandt Radeon High Definition Audio Controller Pro 7 Monitor of Rembrandt Radeon High Definition Audio Controller Pro 8 Monitor of Rembrandt Radeon High Definition Audio Controller Pro 9 Monitor of Family 17h/19h/1aH HD Audio Controller Pro and my USB-Webcam Output devices: same as input devices. When I play a video in VLC, only the "Monitor of Family" will have output signal. And the audio signal of onboard connector as well as the rear audio connector is far too low (about -12dB against the usual values) |

Update2: Same issue persists on Windows 11 as well after using official drivers, Front Panel Jack has no audio (Front Panel greyed out under Realtek Audio Console and no option available to enable or disable it).
Checked on Several other Linux Distros like Linux Mint Fedora OpenMadriva Kali Linux PuppyLinux MX Linux Manjaro PCLinuxOS Mageia and some other too. Audio is working on Front Panel without any issue by default (by changing LineOut or Headphone option). So basically its a Windows 10/11 problem where the option to enable/disable front panel should be available after installing Realtek Drivers+Realtek Audio Console, but its not available. This option should be provided by ASRock along with Audio Drivers how it was provided earlier for older motherboards for Win7. They should provide the same on latest motherboards which have ALC897 audio chip. I Request the Official Asrock Support Moderators to place this request or Forward it to the ASROCK Support Team (ASROCK_TSD) for provide this feature to enable/disable front panel jack into their drivers, using a modded audio drivers is not a fix for ALL users. Those who are installing AAF Family DCHAudioPack Drivers and just want to Enable Front Audio Jack just choose install driver with effects and on next screen select DTS Interactive (5.1), this should get the Front/Headphone Jack working without any unnecessary software effects. Asrock guys fix this issue issue in next audio driver release! Motherboard RMA's is not going to fix this issue. Its a software issue not hardware related. @brigitta: 1. Family 17h/19h/1aH HD Audio Controller Pro is inbuilt motherboard audio chip ALC897 for audio out thru LineOut or Front Audio Jack(Headphone Jack) 2. Rembrandt Radeon High Definition Audio Controller Pro - AMD's iGPU or GPU audio output thru HDMI/DP Monitor audio jack |

@neolz75 I am on Manjaro 6.12 Kernel and after I have understood, what the strange labels like "Family 17h/19h/1aH HD Audio Controller Pro" are meaning, I could set up my audio successfully. No problems any more, concerning audio level too low.
And my front and rear jacks are working without problems. I can only speak for Manjaro. If you have it fresh installed with latest releases, then the pipewire audio should be active by default and the user has to find out the right settings in Pavue - just like I had to do. But if you are running an older release of Manjaro, then it might be, that pipewire audio was not successfully installed or updated and you should check for it. |
