PC built two months ago and worked without any issues until the POST failure yesterday. The B850M PRO-A WIFI has both red and yellow LED lights (indicating CPU and DIMM issue) on steadily and does not POST. It originally had BIOS 3.30 when POST failed. It failed to POST after a reboot - the reboot was immediately after Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling was enabled in Windows 11. Unable to POST ever since. Tried the following but no success.
* Used Flashback to upgrade BIOS to 3.40 successfully. (Green light was blinking during upgrade and eventually stopped blinking.) * Inserted jumper to clear CMOS for 3 minutes. Tried 3 times. * Removed 3V battery for 30 minutes, while jumper was inserted to clear CMOS. * Re-seated two DIMMs in slots A2 and B2 * Tried using only one DIMM in slot B2 * Disconnected all HDMI/DisplayPort and USB. * Re-seated discrete GPU * Removed discrete GPU from PCIe slot and disconnected GPU power. * Re-seated CPU (AMD 9800X3D) I thought the BIOS 3.30 would have saved me. I guess the 3.40 BIOS doesn?™t help at this point if the CPU is already dead. I?™ve opened a tech support ticket with ASrock and AMD. |
