Ok I have a fatality ab350 k4 mobo that has been updated to beta bios 4.63 as 4.6 would not retain my dram or vddp voltage and as always the memory training never worked. After updating I discovered some new timing suggestions from the stilt for hynix A and M die ram. As I could only achieve 2800 stably and barely booted 2933 without having to reset the CMOS i figured id see whats up with the new bios and timings. Low and behold 3200mhz booted up on ram chips only rated to 2666mhz! So I try the faster timings at 3200. Still boots and stable too! Well im here, and that was drama free. Why not go for broke. 3333mhz on safe timings for hynix A die as recommended by stilt booted and tested stable. No luck on the fast settings though. But! memory training has worked on every failed attempt to post. So i start looking at some of the new options under advanced. Theres a few new things nothing groundbreaking. Except, this
under advanced>AMD CBS> NDIO common options there is a setting for SOC overclock VID. It has 3 numerical spaces for input allows no periods for voltage and has zero information out there other than its not the actual voltage input for SOC. Nothing in the bios notes, nothing on this forum, there is literally zero info out there for it. Does anyone know what this setting does? what it changes?

Yeah sure thing. http://www.overclock.net/forum/11-amd-motherboards/1624603-rog-crosshair-vi-overclocking-thread-2414.html
I really want to know what this new setting is though. Its quite literally driving me insane as added VDDP_SOC settings for this board were one of two major gripes I had. It cant be voltage as you cant put a period in the setting and it quite literally says not VDDP_SOC voltage in its description. To note there is also a VDDPCL0 setting that we previously did not have that could prove beneficial to memory overclocking. So please anyone with a clue speak up! |
