Z890 Lightning wifi, first build in many moons and all seems new again. Got windows 11 installed and bios updated to 3.10 have power on the mouse and keyboards enabled in bios and in windows but no matter what I do I can't get the pc to wake on mouse or keyboard. Absolutely pulling my hair out!

Maybe I'd better ask since I'm not sure. I've had my Asrock z97 board for 10 years running windows 7. I know a Dinasaur, but she was reliable as hell and got the job done for what I needed. Anyway I could get that board to wake with my mouse after shutting it down. I'm not talking about after putting it to sleep but after shut down. I just built my z890 Lightning wifi for a long time needed update and I can get it to wake after sleep with my mouse but not after shutting down. Is this something that has changed with windows 11 or the z890 boards? Driving me crazy that I can't figure this out, if I had hair to pull out I'd be bald! lol I have wake up enabled in the bios and in windows and have the latest bios installed. I know I can just put it in sleep mode but now I'm possessed and need to know. I'm no pc guru but can usually get the job done but not sure anymore. lol

Try connecting your mouse and keyboard to your "lightning gaming ports" on the rear
IO. Those are designed to be used for keyboard and mouse and may have been set up
to receive power when the system is shut off (needed for wake on key/click).

Just a guess on my part, I don't own your board so can't test it.

I tried that and no change, I've tried all the usb inputs. I swore that it worked a few times as soon as I loaded windows but had to remove it from the system and change some things but didn't do anything to affect wakeup, but I was having issues booting and getting anything on screen and syncing with the tv and Marantz processor that I may not remember correctly. More hair pulling lol and still figuring out the right sequence of powering on to get things to jell. HDMI you just got to love it. lol
