Hello team,
I have an issue of black screen following an attempt to update the bios version (v1.3 to 2.3) of my Asrock AB350m-HDV. I need to do this update to update my current CPU (Razen 5 1500X) into a W11 compatible. I downloaded from here :https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/AB350M-HDV/index.fr.asp#BIOS and transferred it to a usb drive (fat 32). I went to the bios, disabled fTPM, and then selected the file on the key drive in the Instant Flash. It went well and then when i tried to restart the computer, I have a black screen (no boot). Thank you in advance for your help, Best |

Hi,
first, I'm not a team member but in the case that your mentioned version numbers (v1.3 to v2.3) are correct then it looks like that you flashed the wrong BIOS. There are 3 revisions of your mentioned mainboard. AB350m-HDV which has no BIOS v1.3 but a v2.3 listed https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/AB350M-HDV/index.asp#BIOS AB350m-HDV R3.0 which has a v1.3 but no v2.3 listed https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/AB350M-HDV%20R3.0/index.asp#BIOS AB350m-HDV R4.0 which has none of your mentioned BIOS versions https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/AB350M-HDV%20R4.0/index.asp#BIOS You need to check which revision your mainboard has. And maybe after a CMOS clear your PC will start or not. |

Thanks DontAsk.
It seems that I made a mistake regarding the actual version of the motherboard. I may have the 2nd one (R3.0) but I used the v2.3 of the 1st one in your list. I did a CMOS clear but it didn't work (jumper and battery). What should I do ? Thank you |

Hi rxxx03,
nowadays it should not be possible to flash an unsuitable BIOS to a motherboard if you use the official tools by the manufacturer. However, in your case it's an old board and maybe this model doesn't prevent this faulty flash. If your board has no backup BIOS which I believe then I guess that it's dead. If you want to keep your current system then a replacement motherboard with the needed feature set would be by far the cheapest solution. These boards are among the cheapest. |
